2012-2013 SGA Staff Applications
Applications are open to all current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.  The deadline for applications is Friday, May 18, 2012. 
 
Positions:

1. Chief of Staff: Ensure, through regular phone calls and email messages, that all staff members and class liaisons are completing their duties and attending the meetings.

2. *Wheel Members-Events Coordinators*: Plays a critical role in the planning of all SGA special events, including Homecoming and Pennies for Patients. Responsible for planning and executing pep rallies. Also responsible for planning spirit weeks, and generally coordinating school-wide efforts to raise and maintain spirit. Led by Emma Gilchrist, Events Coordinator.
            1. Pep Rally Chair (Fall and Winter)
            2. Pennies for Patients Chair
            3. Blood Drive Chair (Fall and Winter)
            4. Homecoming Dance Chair (Theme, decorations, etc)
            5. Homecoming Week Events Chair (BOTC, Student vs Staff Bball etc)
            6. Monthly Events Chair (Free events offered to students monthly)

3. *Public Relations*: In charge of advertising for SGA functions and meetings and in making students aware of upcoming events. This position entails creativity in adding excitement to the activities being publicized. Those with artistic skills are especially encouraged to apply

4. MCR Liaisons:  In charge of choosing delegates to send to the MCR meetings. Responsible for attending all MCR Executive Board meetings and linking the Blake SGA with MCR.

5. Photographers: In charge of taking pictures at ALL SGA events and uploading the pictures to the SGA website. Prefers someone one with a DSLR or a very good digital camera

6. Webmaster: In charge of maintaining the SGA Website, Facebook, and creating a Twitter Account. Also will update both sites with SGA events as much as possible to connect with students better.

7. Elections Coordinator: Develops regulations and timelines, organize logistics, and otherwise conducts the election of the Officers, General Assembly Representatives, and SMOB. Must be able to go to SMOB training events and help during SMOB elections.

8. *Community Service Coordinator*: Responsible for organizing community service actions of the SGA, hanging up flyers, getting sponsor and actively engaging the community.

9. Script Writer: Responsible for drafting creative and innovative scripts for assemblies and pep rallies. (If you plan to apply for this position, please attach a short, 12-25 line mock script for the opening of a winter or homecoming pep rally to your application.)

Pennies for Patients Summary

Congratulations to everyone in the Bengal Community for coming together to support Blake’s 8th year with “Pennies for Patients” and “The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.”   Since 2/6/12 we have worked together to reach and exceed our goal of $10,000.00.  Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support P4P events like Spirit Week, Bengal Ball, Stuck for a Buck, Hat Day, Knockout Basketball Competition, Date Auction, Dine Outs, and raffles at various events.
